We were very lucky to welcome Gavin Kilkenny, a player from Swindon Town Football Club, to Rodbourne Cheney Primary School today. It was a fantastic opportunity for our children to meet a professional footballer, hear about his career, and learn more about the dedication, determination and teamwork needed to succeed in sport.
The visit generated great excitement throughout the school, with pupils eager to meet Gavin, ask questions and find out what life is like as a professional footballer. Experiences like this help to inspire children, encouraging them to pursue their interests, work hard and believe in their own potential both in and out of the classroom.
To make the visit even more special, Swindon Town Football Club has generously gifted every child at our school a FREE ticket for themselves and one parent or carer to attend the match on Saturday 10th October. This wonderful gesture gives our families the chance to enjoy a community sporting event together.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Gavin for taking the time to visit us and to everyone at Swindon Town Football Club for their generosity and continued support of our school community. We are incredibly grateful for this memorable experience, which our pupils will be talking about for a long time to come.
We hope all of our families who attend the match have a fantastic time and enjoy supporting Swindon Town FC!
